CIRRO ENERGY AND CARROLL ISD FORM GRASSROOTS PARTNERSHIP
Cirro Energy’s “Forever Funds” Program Supports Southlake Schools
DALLAS — September 18, 2003 — Cirro Energy and Southlake’s Carroll ISD have forged a partnership that simultaneously lowers the cost of energy for parents, businesses and the district, while returning money to the schools. Southlake’s school system has contracted to power all deregulated CISD facilities with Cirro Energy and instituted the Forever FundsTM plan, which donates a portion of families’ and businesses’ Cirro electric bill payments back to CISD every month.

“Not only does Cirro offer CISD substantial savings on its power bills over other retail electric providers, we also offer savings to Southlake families and businesses while giving them a unique opportunity to perpetually give back to their community,” said Cirro Energy Executive Vice President Tim Bell. “Forever Funds is the only plan in Texas that gives a portion of a consumer’s monthly electric bill payments back to the school district or organization, each and every month the home or business is a Cirro Energy customer. With many school districts facing fiscal restraints and bumping up against property tax caps, this program provides much needed funds while helping district residents and businesses save money on something they use everyday.”

Southlake’s Dragon Stadium and CISD schools, facilities and administrative buildings within Oncor’s service areas are part of the Cirro contract for power. Every homeowner and Southlake business eligible to choose their provider, regardless of the school their child attends, can give back to CISD by becoming a Cirro customer.

“Cirro won the contract to power our schools because the company created a one-of-a-kind partnership program that will lower our energy bill and provide the simplest way to raise funds on something families and business already purchase,” stated Carroll ISD Director of Marketing Steve Kaminski. “Forever Funds raises money for important programs while eliminating the need for school groups to sell candy bars, wrapping paper and magazines door to door. Since Oncor continues to transmit the electricity, residents and businesses can count on Cirro Energy for the same reliable power that they now enjoy. This is a winning proposition for everyone.”

Cirro – Southlake Partnership

Cirro Energy pioneered the Forever Funds program as a way to give back to the local communities the company serves. The Forever Funds program is unique in Texas and takes a portion of families’ and businesses’ monthly electric bill payments and gives the money back to a benefiting school or charity, each and every month, forever. Many schools and organizations across North Texas are already earning money. A majority of those participating in the program are in the Richardson, Plano, Allen, Irving and Fort Worth areas.

“This program combines power cost savings of up to 15 percent over incumbent providers, while helping fund CISD student programs,” explained Cirro Energy Vice President J.P. Schlensker. “If just 1,000 families sign up for Cirro Energy, CISD and its programs will have earned $120,000 by the end of the first year. And if only 2,000 families sign up, almost $250,000 will go to CISD programs every year from those Cirro customers. The amount of funds earned for CISD by Cirro business customers is exponential, as they usually purchase much more power than most residential customers.”
