Cirro Corp. Delivers a New Choice for Electricity Customers
Energy provider to begin offering service next year
DALLAS — October 17, 2003 — Cirro Energy and Plano ISD have forged a partnership that will lower the monthly electric bills of families and businesses within the district, while returning money to school programs. Plano schools have joined with Cirro Energy to benefit from the Forever FundsTM plan, which donates a portion of families’ and businesses’ Cirro electric bills back to PISD each month for items such as activities fees.

“We’ve created a plan that provides substantial savings to Texans on their power bills, while giving them the opportunity to perpetually give back to the community in which our company is based,” said Cirro Energy Executive Vice President Tim Bell. “Forever Funds is the only plan within the State that gives a portion of a consumer’s monthly electric bills back to a designated school or organization, each and every month the home or business is a Cirro Energy customer. With many school districts facing fiscal restraints resulting in new sports and other activity fees, this program provides much needed funds while helping district residents and businesses save money on something they use everyday.”

Six Plano schools and organizations have elected to participate in the Forever Funds program. These include the Plano East and West Quarterback Clubs, the Plano Senior High Band, Rasor and Hightower elementary schools and Bowman Middle School. Every resident and Plano business eligible to choose their electric provider, regardless of the school their child attends, can give back to school programs by becoming a Cirro customer.

“This has the potential to return a great deal of money to schools that are facing tough budget decisions,” said Cliff Odenwald, Plano ISD Athletic Director. “If 1,000 people sign up the designated program could earn $120,000 by the end of the first year. And that money would continue to flow into the schools, year after year.”

Cirro – Plano Partnership
Plano based Cirro Energy pioneered the Forever Funds program to give back to the local communities the company serves. The Forever Funds program is unique in Texas and takes a portion of families’ and businesses’ monthly electric bill payments and gives the money back to a benefiting school or charity, each and every month, for as long as they remain a Cirro customer. Many schools and organizations in North Texas are already earning money. A majority of those participating in the program are in the Plano, Richardson, Southlake, Allen, and Fort Worth areas.

“This program combines power cost savings of up to 15 percent over incumbent providers, while helping fund Plano student programs,” explained Cirro Energy Vice President J.P. Schlensker. “This is a simple idea and a win-win for everyone. Residents in other deregulated parts of the state can also designate a portion of their Cirro bill to benefit a specific participating school or organization when they sign up for service. That means friends and relatives outside the district can also support their favorite school or organization. For Cirro business customers, the amount of funds earned for PISD is exponential, as they purchase much more power than most residential customers.”
